The Tucson Festival of Books (TFOB) is March 15 and 16, and Tucson CCL will be there for the 6th year. With over 100,000 people over 2 days, the TFOB is a great grassroots event for us — we typically engage with 800 or more festival goers in this time.
This kind of work is essential, as it helps to spread many important messages: 1) Dealing with climate change is an urgent matter, 2) There are solutions, and 3) Everyone has an important role to play.
We have two days of eight hours each at the booth and we schedule four two-hour shifts a day. Most shifts have three members and there is always an experienced member on duty to help answer questions.
Tabling is a great way to get started with CCL, and the TFOB makes it fun for our members. The crowd is receptive to our message and the weather is fine in March!
If you would like to volunteer for a shift, or if you have questions, send an email to Ed Beshore at ecbeshore@gmail.com. Shift discussions will begin in late January or early February and an on-line 30-40 minute training will be available in late February.
