Your Action Needed Now!

One of the most important things we do at CCL is to let our elected representatives and business leaders know what is important to us. On these pages, you can find current national and local issues that need your voice.

Just click on the image next to the text below to be taken to a CCL or other page where you can get information, send a letter to Congress, sign an important petition, or learn how you can speak out for an urgent and timely climate issue.

Double Down on Permitting Reform

At CCL’s Lobby Day, we asked Members of Congress to support a bipartisan clean energy permitting reform package.  Now, Congress needs to hear from all of us.

Our goal is to see a new legislative package get introduced and pushed over the finish line this session!  Our method to get Congress’ attention is to make 10,000 contacts in the next 30 days!

Without permitting reform, roughly half of the potential carbon pollution reductions from the IRA will be lost.

July 8th NYT op-ed by Heatmap’s publisher, Robinson Meyer, describes the need for permitting reform, using our own SunZia transmission line as an example: It Takes Too Many Studies for the Government to Do the Right Thing – The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Support your lobby team by writing Congress. CCL has made it easy to do with this link to email your entire delegation at one time.

Thank Representative Juan Ciscomani for Co-Sponsoring the Prove-IT Act

Since August, 2023, our chapter has send 129 letters to our Members of Congress urging them to pass the PROVE-IT ACT. That’s in addition to our liaisons’ regular correspondence and lobby meetings.

In January, Sen. Mark Kelly co-sponsored the Senate Bill to pass it out of the Environment and Public Works committee.

In July,  Congressmen John Curtis (R-UT) and Scott Peters (D-CA) introduced the bill into the House. Rep. Ciscomani co-sponsored this important bill along with 10 Democrats and 8 other Republicans. The PROVE-IT Act will provide important information in assessing carbon emissions.

To thank Rep. Ciscomani for leading on this critical step, CCL has provided this writing tool link for constituents of the co-sponsors.
