Application for Scholarship to Citizens Climate Lobby International Conference and Lobby Day on Capitol Hill
July 26-28, 2026
The Tucson chapter of CCL supports student climate activism and encourages student engagement with public officials at municipal, state, and federal levels. To further that mission, the chapter invites adult students (minimum age 18 before departure) in the Tucson area to apply for scholarship to the Citizens Climate Lobby International Conference and Lobby Day in Washington DC, July 26-28, 2026.
The scholarship benefit includes lodging (double occupancy) at the Omni Shoreham Hotel from Saturday, July 25th until checkout on Wednesday, July 29th, round-trip airfare, conference registration, ground travel expenses, and a meal stipend.
This year’s conference program has not been set, but speakers often include members of Congress, international activists, authors, climate scientists, and educators.
Scholarship students are responsible for the following:
- At the conference: Attend the Climate Advocate Training Workshop at the conference and participate in all assigned CCL lobby planning meetings.
- At the Congressional lobby meetings: Assist in taking and drafting meeting minutes.
- After the conference: Write a reflection on the conference experience and its significance to the applicant in shaping his/her climate advocacy plans. This could be in the form of an Op-ed submitted to the local newspaper or a presentation to Tucson CCL members
Deadline for applications for first-round applications is February 22, 2026
