Support Our Parks by Attending an Exclusive Screening of Blue Carbon

On September 26 at 2 PM, the Loft Cinema (3233 E. Speedway) will screen Blue Carbon as part of the Rotary Club Tucson Verde’s effort to raise funds to support the shade sails project at Menlo Park.

Filmed in the USA, Senegal, Vietnam, France, Colombia and Brazil, the documentary explores the potential of oceans to absorb much more carbon from the atmosphere than even tropical rainforests. This “Blue Carbon” as scientists are now calling it, can be found in salt-marshes, sea-grasses and mangroves. This documentary urges us to take stock of nature’s true value by listening to and learning from the communities on the front lines of climate change.
